UK Training in Emergency Airway Management (TEAM) Course

The UK TEAM Course has been jointly developed and is jointly owned by the College of Emergency Medicine and the Royal College of Anaesthetists. It is a two day course designed to teach the basic foundations of the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to manage the airway safely in an emergency. The course serves as an introduction to emergency airway skills, including rapid sequence induction of anaesthesia and tracheal intubation, but competence in these skills requires further, and ongoing, training.
It is expected that candidates attending this course will have had at least six to twelve months experience in anaesthesia and/or intensive care. Candidates are also expected to have a range of knowledge and skills relevant to emergency airway care, such as arterial blood gas analysis and chest X-ray interpretation. UK TEAM is highly relevant for emergency physicians in training, and is very highly rated by course candidates.
